Another year wiser

My birthday has come and gone, along with a bit of fanfare in the form of a karaoke party, a wonderful brunch celebration and a dinner at the "Blind Cafe". This is an amazing event that travels from city to city and feeds you dinner in the dark - I mean pitch black - while you engage your fellow diners, listen and ask questions of the blind wait staff and organizers, and listen to music. Quite a strange and sometimes unnerving experience for a sighted person.

I am coming up on 6 months in this avocation. There, I said it. My life is - in no way, shape or form - what I thought it would be. It just might be better. I have learned so much about human nature and about myself in the last months.
